Talk to me about staff morale please.

have scarey interview and have to do presentation about something to do with staff morale. where do i start?

someone else will prob know exactly what they're after in reference to that particular job, but if it was me i would talk about using an iterative approach, ensuring everyone felt listened to and valued etc etc. regular appraisals where they can raise training needs...will think some more...

Can you bring the KSFs in somewhere devilish? Sure they were supposed to be about improving morale/staff training needs etc! Can you talk about developments in the trust - do you know the results of your latest staff survey - what were key areas of dissatisfaction etc?

was thinking along the lines of

annual appraisals and 1:1 meetings identifying training needs/wants

regular unit/department meetings

involvement in change management

Link roles and responsibilities

unit organisation and aim

management point of view - being positive, not bitching about the place, reinforcing the point of being there etc, showing strong leadership

and something about the social side

sound o.k?

You could mention linking individual objectives to Ward/Dept ojectives which in turn link into Trust Objectives.
Taking action quickly if morale seems low.

Have KSFs really been binned? God what a waste of money that was, I can't tell you how many hours I spent trying to put everyone's together (I left the NHS a year ago you can tell!).

all sounding v useful.
KSFs sidlined i think because noone could agree on them. no more gateways either.
