DP's company is whinging because they've overspent the wages budget and are threatening to stop paid overtime and cut holiday pay to compensate. If they issue updated contracts is dp obliged to sign? He already has a permenant contract but I'm not sure whether he has to sign or can refuse without any comeback.
I wonder about this quite a lot as a similar thing happened to my Mum a while ago, she was given an updated contract to sign which meant she would lose her long service holiday days and erduced her hourly rate for overtime.

red I'm in a rush, but they can't just do this.

See here about what an employer has to do to change terms and conditions, and here what to do if you don't agree.

Could have potential to claim unfair dismissal, but all this is only if your DP has longer than a year service, otherwise they can basically do what they like.
