Summer takeover false employment opportunity

My daughter has previously signed up with a company called summer takeover working holidays they seem to promote employment abroad.

My daughter booked to work away with them and when asked she paid £1 to book but then they kept charging her bank account £100 it seems they have hid their terms when booking and put her on a payment plan. we have looked into and contacted this company and believe they are praying on young people to book with the small amount then charge the hidden fees which is disgusting. They dont even offer jobs in the place they promote it is false advertisement.

My daughter has spoken to her bank about this and will be getting the money back. i hope others dont fall into this trap.

Speak to trading standards.

Just had a brief look at their website - it's very clear that you are paying for a package holiday and trial shifts at jobs in the resort. Did your daughter honestly think she was getting a full package holiday for £1??? I think you need to teach your daughter to have a better look at things to be honest!

they dont promote to their website, the company have been promoting to an 'apply page' for a job so they take you directly to that and then say youv'e been 'accepted' for a job and redirect you to a booking page for £1. I have looked and done this myself to check my daughter was being truthful.

It then does not mention anything about making further payments or further costs on the apply and booking page until you have your space booked with £1. Completely misleading and praying on young people to be mislead by their promotions.

Hi there. Just wondering if your daughter got her money back from this company?
My daughter had the same problem, although the money has been being deducted from my credit card, despite her emailing the company to tell them she wanted to cancel, way back in August! However they claim they never received her email and unfortunately, we don't have access to my daughter's emails any longer as it was sent from her old school email account which was deactivated at the end of August!!

I only noticed these payments were being deducted, a few weeks back when I was checking through my last few statements.
They have given me 50% of the money back, as a gesture of goodwill, but so far I'm still down £211. They have said they are trying to see if they can get the remainder back from the accommodation but as per their t & c's, they don't have to do this.
