I registered with an agency for receptionist temp work. In the meeting they asked what kind of environment I preferred and I said corporate as that is my ten years experience. The assignment was for 2 weeks. I arrived at the place on my first day to discover that there wasn't a receptionist desk, but rather a small little round table that was in the waiting area. It was all quite odd and I knew immediately that I couldn't hack that for two weeks.I called the agency and explained them and that was that.

So I was expecting my payment today for the 8 hours I did but lo and behold there was nothing there. I called the agency and the lady who placed me there said that she'd been trying to get hold of me for days (no missed calls, no voicemails, no emails) to explain that the client didn't sign off my timesheet as they are disputing paying me due to negative feedback for employees. WTF????? I was nothing but pleasant and professional. This is a blatant lie and it's really upset me. Not only does it paint me in a negative light to the agency but it's just really made me feel like shit. IIf the feedback was so negative then why was the client happy for me to return the next day? I asked the woman at the agency if they were allowed to do this...even if she was telling the truth, surely she still has to sign my time sheet off in order for me to be paid. Surely it's not contingent on receiving positive feedback from employees?? I was sat in that waiting room for 8 hours! The woman at the agency said that she is going to speak to her manager to see what she says.

I'm fuming, I really am.

If you work you legally have to be paid. The agency should know that and the fact the timesheet hasn't been signed off is irrelevant. Your contract is with the agency, theirs is with the client.
