If you work part time is your holiday entitlement calculated in hours or days?

Just wondering how this works. If you’re part time are your holidays worked out so that you book them in hours or in days?
We have a mixture where I work.
Mine are currently in hours but one of my p/t colleague’s are in days. I work different hours over 4 days and she works different hours over 5 days. Does it all work out the same or is anyone at a disadvantage?

Hours.

If someone works the same hours every day 5 days a week then it is calculated in days here.

Hours.
I'm sure it must work out the same.

At my company it’s in Hours if you work varying hours per day or varying days per week. It’s In days if you work a set number of hours per day, 5 days a week. For full timers it’s in days. In theory it should work out the same

Ok so the person who does 5 days a week but a different number of hours on each of those days should have it calculated in hours?

I'm full time and my holiday is in hours.

Overtime has just started to accrue holiday time too but we can't take it, we're paid for it quarterly.

Hours, and yes, if your colleague works varied hours, it is very unlikely to be correct.

Ours are calculated in hours for full and part time. I’m part time and don’t work on Monday and Friday so I get 60 percent of bank holidays back in hours too.

That’s very interesting nelson about the bank holidays. I don’t think they are factored in at all where I am.

My holiday allowance + bank holiday allowance are added together to give us a total for the year. We may or may not work on a bank holiday. If we do we don't do anything with the hours on our time sheet, just put the number of hours worked on for the pay to be calculated. We have to be aware the number of bank holidays left in the year e.g. Christmas, New Year , possibly Easter when you are taking leave because you may or may not be working one or more of them.

I also don't work Mondays and Fridays and get a proportion of bank holidays back in my annual leave hours.

Worked in hours for any part timer in my workplace as it can't be worked in days as there is always leftover.

So I am 0.6 FTE so I get 0.6 of holidays and bank holidays. So for the 8 bank holidays I only get 4.8 days. Our days are 7.5 hours so this is 36 hours. I need to use my other holiday allowance to make up the balance 😕

If you do 5 days but same hours then days are fine for normal holidays but should still be pro rata for public holidays if you don't work full time.
