Is this ok? Am I being silly?

Would like perspectives please. Had second round job interview, with same interviewer as first round. Friendly, most senior person at business, male. Interview was at a cafe and I understand all his interviews are. When we met I went to shake hands. We did, but he then kissed me on both cheeks. Rest of interview went well. It is for a professional city job. Is this ok given we had met before and the interview ended up being quite informal or is it a warning I should heed?

This would be incredibly odd in my field, but how informal is informal?! Was he Italian or French, I only ask as both male and female friends from these countries greet like this.

He is English but down to earth and very personable. I thought it was odd but like the company and it is a good position.

It's not the norm, but there are some people who do this by standard. Was he, Ehrm, quite upper class?

I'd find it unprofessional and demeaning. Wouldn't want to work for someone who invaded my personal space like that.

Erm...not on at all.

Thanks all for replying. He is not upperclass. I would say probably from an ordinary background. I think you’re all right. I should go with my immediate reaction which is it was odd. I know someone (male) who used to work for him so perhaps I will ask him about it if I get an offer. Thanks very much. I do appreciate you taking time to respond.
