I normally work shifts on a very strict eroster system. Ie if you leave a little early it gets taken off and you have to make it up. However if you miss your unpaid break (often) or stay late it doesn't get added or paid. Bit annoying but that's the NHS! Anyway I have been asked to attend a conference that is a 2.5 hour train ride away and the same home. The ticket and conference paid for but a necessity for my role. The eroster still says 7.5 hours my normal hours for that day. Basically should I get these travel hours included in my working day? I don't want payment just to be added as 'hours'. Any ideas?
