Can I really pay someone to write a CV for me?

Can I really just pay someone to do it? If so, how much roughly would the going rate be.

Would anyone be kind enough to recommend someone?

I'm really quite stuck. Old job is finished and need to find something else very quickly

I'm not very good with the whole CV writing.

I used an online service a few years ago paid about £10 I think and my CV looked amazing. So yes you can pay someone.

Well that sounds great to start, why is it you think you need someone else to do it for you?!
I like the listing of specific achievements, in some cases can be seen as braggy but here it's concise. How many staff overall at the company, if quite a few worth mentioning that to give a better idea of scale.

I do this for a living, so it is certainly a thing . I work mainly via the PeoplePerHour website, and there are quite a few independent CV writers on there. I’d avoid the larger national/international chains - far more expensive, variable quality.

A few obvious things: change “Contributions” to “Achievements” and be consistent in tense.

I agree about being persistent with the tense. However, should I really change contributions to achievements?

Doesn't achievement sound more braggy? I thought 'contributions' was more subtle

It’s a document designed to sell you, so (appropriate) showing off is the way to go.

I’d suggest you get everything down and then let a friend/professional/Mumsnetter have a critical look - the outside perspective really does help.

Yes to achievements, that was the main stand out for me.

It is something that you achieved, along with others in some cases, and changes it from you being passive to an active member.
