Hi,
I'm really hoping some of you can give me some inspiration.
This is my current situation: I have 2 children (aged 6 and 9) and my husband and I are planning to separate in about 9 months time. I am thinking of moving to Edinburgh and he will be working in London but living in Edinburgh on some weekends.
I am a former nurse and have been at home looking after my children for 9 years, however due to my circumstances will need to go back to work. I will be looking for a job that is 9-5 as I will have no help with childcare, however very few jobs with these hours exist in nursing.
Are there any former nurses out there who can give me some ideas as to a 'child friendly' area of nursing to go into? With regards to a career change, I am lacking inspiration..... I would love to find something that utilises some of my nursing skills. I also have a nursing degree.....I'm hoping this will count for something.

I will appreciate all suggestions!

Thanks :-)

I work for an independent school and we have a nurse who works 9-3 term time only. Would that type of thing be suitable? I suspect they're competitive but worth a look?

She also gets paid an allowance to do our first aid training each year and keep our appliances compliant.

My mum's a nurse and when we were at school she did lots of district nursing and a few other things like school nurse, care home cover, convalescent homes...
She worked with an agency.

She also did voluntary work in a hospice for a while, but they must have paid jobs too (that was abroad so she wasn't qualified there).
