Hello
I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and have been working at my job for over 2 years. I informed my employers I was pregnant when I was 8 weeks and had risk assessments etc. After I reading my employers handbook, it says I should of confirmed it in writing at 25 weeks otherwise I would not be entitled. I gave my MATB1 form today, but am worried I won't be entitled to anything as I never gave an actual letter.. any advice would be great! Stressing out x

Has all the discussion been only verbal so far then? Nothing written down anywhere about your pregnancy?

I'm sure your employer won't try to refuse you maternity pay because you're a bit Kate with a letter. If you've been discussing your pregnancy (and presumably your maternity leave) with your manager it's not as if you've kept it secret!

Maybe write them a letter but backdate it.

Had risk assessments but apparently that's to do with the school where as I need to apply to the council.

Write a letter now, and in the letter use the phrase "further to my discussions with [name anyone management you have spoken to about your pregnancy including the date you notified them], and to my risk assessment carried out on [date], please find enclosed my MATB1 form.

Tell them what date you intend to start maternity leave if you know, and ask them to confirm your maternity pay entitlement.
