Asking for interview to be moved?

I've been luck enough to have been offered an interview for a job however I know my employer won't grant me annual leave for the day, not usually a problem to get holidays but I know that this day will not be granted due to a previous commitment that won't be changed (could be but won't).

I am really unhappy in my current role and I think my boss knows I am looking for another job so if I phone in sick, get offered the job and then hand in my notice they will know but maybe I am thinking too far ahead....

So, would it be a good idea to ask the people interviewing if they can change my appointment time by an hour? That way I can do both and my current employer wouldn't know. Would this look bad on me from the interviewers point of view?

Has anyone ever done this or got any advice?

I wouldn't ask them to change your time if you can possibly avoid it.
Could you have an urgent dental appointment or such like that requires you to leave the office?
Failing that I never normally advocate this, but ring in sick if it's the only way you can do the interview.

If they want to see you badly enough they will be prepared to shift if it's only an hour.

If you say the delay is because there's a meeting you must attend, they will respect you for focusing on your current role priorities.
