I am going to keep this a bit vague as to not out myself too much...
I have been in a new job for a bit over 6 months now. It's a stressful job where it is important that you can feel supported by your colleagues.
I think I am fairly easy going and in previous jobs managed to find my place in the team quickly. In this job I am really struggling! I find the working atmosphere uncomfortable and feel like I need to watch my back all the time.
With the pressure of the job, I don't know if I can cope with not feeling at ease with my colleagues. I don't see this changing in the near future at all.
Should I just man up and put up, or should I look for a new job? I am torn Confused

I could never work for a company that has a blame culture. (Which I feel is like what your describing)

Are you still in your probationary period?

It's often seen as taboo to have short stints at a work place, but probation is supposed to be a two way thing. Company employee and employee company.

I would start looking before the pressure starts to eat away at you and make you utterly miserable.

You will likely be asked why you didn't stick it out in your current role in any potential interviews you have, I would say something along the lines of "I was really excited about the role and enjoyed the people I worked with, however the scope of the job didn't fit with what I was expecting, I looked a good challenge and to learn something new"

Thanks, you do confirm what I think I already know. Life is too short, isn't it?

Life is too short, isn't it? Yes, we spend more waking hours with colleagues than our families. A supportive team and good colleagues can make a not so great job wonderful. Get hunting 70!
