When to discuss wage

Hi All,
I have a complicated situation and need mumsnetters expertise! Four years ago i began working in job A and worked there for 3 years. It was a job in a council and so every year my pay increased, I was therefore on the third increment of pay when i left (28,000). A year ago I moved to job B on a higher salary than I left however a year down the line I hate job B. My old job (job a) was recently advertised and I hate job b so much that I applied for it. I have an interview for job A on Friday. If I am lucky enough to be offered Job A following my interview I am very likely to accept it however I want to go back to on the same wage that i left (28,000) not the 26,000 starting salary. My question is, when do I ask this question? Do i raise it during the interview or do I wait until they offer me the job? It would feel presumptuous to ask at the interview as I may not get offered the job and I also dont want to put them off offering it to me but it seems unfair to not warn them that this is what I would be asking for.

Any advice would be great.

Wait until they offer it to you. You're not in a position to negotiate before that. Good luck!

I would wait until you are offered it. Are you going to take it even if you have to start at 26 again? Good luck!

Ball is totally in their court. Wait till it's offered.

Good luck.

Thank you guys! To be honest if I have to start 26,000 I will still take it (I REALLY hate my current job)

Wait. There's nothing to negotiate until they've offered you the position.

If they offer you the position or talk about salary during the interview indicate that because you have 3 year's experience to bring to the role you would hope that they could reflect that that in the salary offered and be able to start on the same rate that you left at.
