Work

supply teacher and JSA during holidays

Is anyone else a supply teacher or have experience in this field? Am I able to claim JSA over the summer holidays? I work PT (single mother, young child) I was working 3 days a week through an agency at the one school. I do not get paid in the holidays. My job is becoming permanent in September.
I have claimed but am awaiting a response.

Are you genuinely seeking work? Doesn't the agency rate include an element for holiday pay?(it should)

I wouldn't have thought that many teachers, supply or otherwise, are actively seeking work over the summer holidays.

You'll probably have to convince them that you're a serious job hunter by applying for temp jobs and attending interviews. You might end up being sent fruit-picking or something like that for a few weeks, so if you're not prepared genuinely to work, don't accept JSA.

Supply pay includes an element of holiday pay that should cover holidays.
Whether the JC will pick you up on that, I'm not sure.
