NHS maternity pay - Fixed Term Contract

Hi,
I'm currently working in the NHS on a Fixed Term contract which is due to expire towards the end of next year. Can anyone please help me understand what I'll be entitled to maternity pay-wise if the date my contract was due to end falls during my maternity leave?! I will have worked for the NHS for over 12 months, but the contract would have expired whilst I was off on mat leave.

I don't understand if I'm entited to the NHS contractual maternity pay element of MP, as I won't have the option to return to work, and so can't give an 'intention to return' for the required 3 month period that permanent employees have to give.

Has anyone been in this situation? I have trawled all the policies but the wording is not clear at all for FTC employees.

Any help much appreciated! Xx

Will you have 1 years service when you start maternity leave? (In fact you need just over a year, but I haven't got access to my paperwork to look properly)

If you cannot return to work after the maternity leave because your contract ended you are still entitled to the full amount payable as if you are returning to work for 3 months following, this is according to your service at the time of the start of the maternity leave.
