Public transport

I relay on public transport to get to and from work, when first started i put my availability down as 9-5 as my last bus was at 5.15pm.
The bus company then introduced a 6.15pm bus, so i worked 9-6 (no extra hours just more breaks) but now they have cancelled that bus and the last one is 5.15pm.
Just wondering if its possible to change my hours back, or can employer refuse?
