I have been fired for poor performance that lost company money but the truth is that I had personal issues, a family member died few years ago & another was diagnosed with the same problem they are both young adults. This is why I was performing badly my appeal is next week should I address this? It's not an excuse but it's the reason why also I'm pregnant
Thank you x

Was it poor performance generally or a specific thing you did that lost the company money?

How long have you been there?

You may struggle to convince them that a family member dying a few years ago and another family member being diagnosed with something is the reason for what's happened and that they should therefore give you your job back.

Did you go through a disciplinary process or was it gross misconduct? How long had you been working there?

And at no point during the performance management process did you offer this background ? Very difficult to argue retrospectively.

Poor performance isn't gross misconduct, something significant must have happened. If you share what happened it might be easier to advise you whether their response is reasonable and whether your mitigating circumstances are relevant.
