Sick pay if salaried

Hello
Have been offered job as manager of a Care Home.It state smy salary and then says sickness is in accordance with Statutory Sick Pay...does this mean I will not receive salary if sick but the SSP if it goes on for longer and will not be paid for a few days if ill?Have emailed company but wondered if anyone here would know....bet you do!

yep my dh used to be on that kind of contract

they advised him to use holiday days when sick

Thanks for replies.I am paid hourly at the moment and use holiday when I have been ill.Just wondered as it is a salary if I get paid when sick as I used to in all other jobs.
