DBS Check

Does anyone know how I can get a DBS check for my new nanny? I haven't found her through an agency so checks haven't already been done, and she's not Ofsted registered. I contacted the DBS to ask how to obtain a check and was told that although I will be her employer, because I'm not an organisation I can't ask for one. Does anyone know what I should do?

As an individual person you can't get one.

You may be able to find an umbrella body who will carry one out for you though. There is a list of all umbrella bodies on the DBS website.
