Can you recommend any head hunters, exec search firms who recruit for London roles/ south east?

Depends on nature of the role and how difficult it is likely to be to fill. Can you tell us anything more?

It's all a bit hush hush.

Most head hunting firms specialise in one or two sectors.

If you can get a small lead, you can usually track down useful people on LinkedIn.

Make sure you have maximised your LinkedIn profile and have made as many connections as you can.

Can you say which sector you are in?

You could try any of the top 5:

Korn Ferry
Russell Reynolds
Egon Zehnder
Spencer Stuart
Heidrick and Struggles

If you can be a bit more specific I can probably recommend some boutique firms too. Are you looking for a new role?

LadyStark's list is pretty good, add in Odgers and CT Partners as well.

Depending on the area you want to work in, also check out boutiques who'll specialise in just that area.

Most on their websites will list who covers which market, so you can contact the right person rather than just send in your CV and it be passed round various researchers before being given to the right person. If you aren't sure from what they say, send to the head of practice of the general group (like consumer goods, industrial, financial services etc, rather than the subindustry)
