Will a CRB check for a job show a dropped court claim

HI

I am in a tizz about a job offer. New company will ask for a CRB check. I have only one thing to worry about. I had a car accident in my company car and hit the car infront. Instead of providing my company's insurance details I provided mine. The other part's insurers and thier solicitors pursued me in the courts to claim the repair costs. I passed thois on to my company car dept and their insurers. In summary, my company insurers took over the case and successfully resolved it. The case was disctinued and dropped by the other part's solicitors and insurers.

My question will any of this show adversely in a CRB or CCJ against me. Other than this incident, my records would show nothing else.

Many thanks.

I wouldn't have thought that would be included on a DBS disclosure. You didn't receive a caution did you?
Even if it is mentioned, which I doubt, I can't see how it could have any bearing on your suitability for employment. I certainly wouldn't be concerned about it if I were employing you.

I received no caution. It was simply that it was the company insurers who should have paid the claim, and they did. I made the foolish mistake of providing my details instead of company details when I had the accident in the company car. All monies have been paid by my company's insurers.

What is a DBS disclosure?

DBS is the new checking process - replaces CRB.

I'm almost certain that your issue won't come up. It doesn't sound as though there was any criminal issue at all.

It might come up in a credit check - some employers do these as routine alongside CRB checks - but unless it is outstanding I can't see what the problem would be. You wouldn't be the first to have a car crash and an insurance wrangle, it's more of an issue if any debts are unpaid. I would imagine your prospective employer would talk to you about any concerns, if there were any, anyway.

Having something on there isn't necessarily a barrier to employment, although it depends on the circumstances of the crime/how long since it happened etc

CRB shows criminal matters, though, and insurance wrangles are civil afaik - were the police involved?

Hi

It is all resolved. I did an online check with Equifax. Under the Court Actions section, it showed as N/a - so nothing showing.

As an side, the credit checks is very comprehensive, it showed balances on my bank accounts, balances on my credit card, and whether I had kept up-to-date with them. Must thank my partner for ensuring I pay my bills on time.

Thanks all.

PS, I guess I do not need to do a check with Experian do I. Surely, it will show the same results as Equifax. Is that so?
