Sorry fear this might turn out to be a long one....
Earlier this year, I started a secondment. When I was offered the job, I told my boss that I was pregnant and was told this wasn't a problem. My new line manager wasn't told until the day before I started and made it very clear he wasn't happy....
I went on maternity leave in July.
In september I get a phone call to say that they are ending my secondment but that the job is going permanent - but if I want it then I have to apply for it.
The team that I manage were also on secondment and are now being transferred automatically.
My permanent post is protected and if I decide not to apply or don't get the seconded job then I'll go back to that job.
Should my seconded post be protected as I'm on maternity leave? Or is it enough that my perm post is protected?
If i have to apply, I feel that i wouldn't be able to compete on a level playing field - brain rot has set in, childcare arrangements etc....
So my question, am I being unfairly treated because I'm on mat leave?
