Employment not great in east yorks I'm afraid, but I don't know Grimsby well enough to give specifics.

Join an agency, look on indeed and job centre website you are next to the motorway and near Hull, Lincoln, Scunthorpe but obviously depends what industry you wish to work in. I have just been offered two jobs ne of which is in Grimsby.

Strongly suggest you do not live in Grimsby. It is a depressing impoverished place and job prospects are very low. Assuming your DP is working in Grimsby look to live near Humber Bridge and you widen your job circle to take in Scunthorpe, Hull, Lincoln. Schools in Grimsby itself not good.

Yes living outside Grimsby a better option like I do plenty of lovely places that you can move to that your DP would be blue to commute easily to Grimsby, I live in a lovely village in between Scunthorpe and Doncaster 3 miles from motorway and my commute will take 30 mins

I see your DD is 10. Do not automatically rule out living the other side of the Humber. I would suggest you take a look at N Ferriby, Welton, Brough. That would put you in the catchment for South Hunsley secondary which has a great reputation and your DP's commute would still only be 30 mins - there is no such thing as a Grimsby rush hour.

Hey what are you all slagging Grimsby for ? Do any of you live there ? Well I do and I'll admit that the town centre is not the nicest place in the world but there are far worse places to live in the UK than Grimsby you know. I live in a lovely quiet village on the outskirts of Grimsby and Cleethorpes has some nice areas too !

Seriously though I know you are all correct Grimsby is a shit hole and I would love to get out but I'm not brave enough, so I'll just pretend you are all wrong and try to be offended by your comments.

Hiya,
I live in Grimsby I grew up here as well there is nothing wrong with it it’s cheap and there are plenty of green spaces for the kids to get out doors. Housing is cheap and yes there are run down places but there is everywhere in the country. I have a little boy who loves it here for the beach the woods and you can still drive places for days out with the kiddos your not completely alone. Everyone here is quite friendly as well if you ask for directions you won’t get ignored. It’s a small town so people know everyone but not in a bad way really. I work for the nhs and to be fair work isn’t really that hard to find if your not fussed what you do. Money is money at the end of the day and it pays the bills the schools are good and there are always new developments. When the caronavirus hit we had drive in cinemas to help get families out. I wouldn’t rule it out it’s just as good as any other place it’s what you make it really Smile
