I had a job interview last week and they seemed very keen and said they would let me know for definite by the end of the week.

Not heard yet.

Now normally I bide my time but I am impatient and they were so positive that they would let me know quickly.

Should I call the HR dept and see what's happening? Or not...

You decide!

Nothing to lose

Yes, call them. It often takes longer to make a decision than they say.

I'd wait- its only Monday and there are probbaly processes to follow etc- at least wait until tomorrrow

supadupapupascupa Mon 22-Aug-11 13:22:31

yes, they said they would call and I would mention this as the reason for your chasing. it won't make you look bad, just keen.

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 13:23:44

You don't think they'll think I'm pushy? DH thinks they'll think I'm pushy. Also keen which will stump any money negotiations. I pointed out that I told them I am keen at the interview.

Oh I don't know.

I really really really want it, it's perfect.

I'd wait until Tuesday - but I am afraid normally a wait means you might not have got it - at least in my experience!

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 13:37:23

Yes anothername, last one they kept me waiting for 3 weeks before coming back with a no sad

Oh you lot, I know, I know. I'm so impatient! ... I will hold out til 3 i think.

I really don't want to cock it up!

Also I have 3 children under 5 here at the mo and chances are the moment they pick up the phone one will loudly say "I need a poo" or something...

<sits on hands>

tethersend Mon 22-Aug-11 14:32:12

Just bloody ring grin

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 14:33:25

Ha you're more impatient than me!

I promise I will, just not right now. The moment has to be right. <sits in yogic zen position and waits for moons to align>

tethersend Mon 22-Aug-11 14:33:39

For all they know you could have just been offered another job with a bigger salary, but prefer this one, so need to know now as the other job needs an answer wink

MugglesandLuna Mon 22-Aug-11 14:37:09

I have done that before Tethers wink

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 14:41:34

grin yes that's the bit I'm shit at. I always find out I'm earning less than everyone else but twice as good. eg I got made redundant a while back and they know that so not a top bargaining position!

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 14:42:06

I have got a bit better though since xenia gave a a sort of cheerleading session on here once, It was most invigorating!

tethersend Mon 22-Aug-11 15:00:29

it's 3 o clock, you know.

BeerSnake Mon 22-Aug-11 15:01:28

Yes. Keen is good!

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 15:03:24

oh blimey.

i will go for a pee and see what DH thinks again.

sorry for procrastination

PinotsKittens Mon 22-Aug-11 15:05:24

My DH hates it when people chase him for answers. Pisses him right off.

Just sayin'.

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 15:06:57

DH not answering and now they have started drilling in next doors house and it's really loud.

I have butterflies though which means I have now commenced working myself up to calling...

Sorry for keeping you all waiting. But this is my entire future we're talking about, literally. <wild exaggeration>

tethersend Mon 22-Aug-11 15:07:02

He should expect it if he promises an answer by a certain date and then doesn't deliver it wink

SardineQueen Mon 22-Aug-11 15:07:29

OOh x posts pinot.

it would be the HR dept rather than the actual interviewers though
