My contract states my employment can be terminated for any reason....

....as long as I get paid the months' notice. Is this correct? Surely I would need to go through a dismissal / warnings procedure?

Within the first year that would be correct (with some exceptions eg if the dismissal was for a discriminatory reason), but after a year no that clause wouldn't stand up.
