Holiday pay with recruitment agency

Hello,

Just wondered if anyone could give advice. Having been out of work for five months, I have managed to get a job through a recruitment agency - yay! Having been offered the job after the interview on Thusday, I happily accepted.

Prior to the interview, when I was discussing the new role with the recruitment consultant who put me forward for this role, he stated several times that the pay was £11.50 per hour.

However, today I received my work documents from the agency. It states that my pay is in fact £10.26 per hour, and I get £1.24 per hour holiday pay, which adds up to £11.50.

Now I didn't think recruitment agencies could do this, and no other agency I have been registrered with operatedin this way. Is the recruitment agency right to do this?

Yep, they can pay you in this way. Its standard practice for agencies to do it as it a lot easier than running a traditional holiday scheme as that can get very complex working out holiday entitlement.
