Has anyone used this agency for carers etc for elderly relatives please?
My elderly mother has terminal cancer, she's not eating very much at all. I think if someone came in and cooked for her she might be tempted.
Home Instead has been recommended by her social worker.
She has ready meals and I've cooked things for her but she won't heat them up.

Home instead has local franchises- I have been really impressed with ours for dm. Really reliable through the bad weather.
Friends elsewhere have found them very good too. Tell them as much info about your dms likes and dislikes..... some of the carers could cook, others not so good. But ver6 caring and very well managed.

Not the cheapest, 45 min calls

That's great to hear. She's very against careers of any description but might give in if the right people visit. I'm hoping that we can start with someone helping with meals and eventually include some personal care.
She's in a very fortunate position that the cost isn't an issue.

They’re not 45 min calls they are the minimum of an hour. They have a very good reputation where we are. As for expensive, cheap is not good and good is not cheap.

They are a multi million pound business started by Evangelical Christians in the US.

They charge a lot and pay their carers a reasonable amount.

They dont actually " care". Its business.
