DMum is in her 80's has dementia she is independent at home with support from two daily visits by carers.
Just had a letter saying her care needs are being reassessed due to the new Care Act.
Some basic googling suggests that by law Local authorities must now reassess everyone, it is more about prevention than firefighting with a goal of staying independent and a cap on £72,000 in care costs. Great.
DM receives about £5,000 annually and has very little income bar her modest pension, less than £4,000 in the bank so should be fine right...
I don't want to go to this interview missing something obvious as this money is a lifeline to DM so any tips or info to stop me tripping up would be great.
