A very long shot but does anybody know anything about a new nursery that is being built in Cheadle, from what I've heard it's near John Lewis?

No, but shall watch this space.

I have seen it -- it is on the A34 just before you get to the roundabout for JL ... there is a new office block.... I drive past it every day -- think it is openening in September -- they are looking for staff -- don't know who owns it though

Don't suppose you know what it's called mancmum? It's supposed to be a state of the art one that cost a fortune. I think the owner won business woman of the year and got a load of grants towards it?

it's called Kids Allowed. I know someone who is sending their DD there when it opens in Sep

Too slow!!! - on the phone to them making an appointment to go and have a look!

Perfect as I start work in September!

homemama Mon 20-Jun-05 10:17:28

I just phoned too. They asked if I heard from mumsnet as they'd had 5 calls last 10mins! ha ha!

Tinker Mon 20-Jun-05 10:20:25

Blimey. Fees? Sorry to be blunt.

katierocket Mon 20-Jun-05 10:22:21

tinker ?

Tinker Mon 20-Jun-05 10:23:12

kr - fees for the nursery. Sorry, about vague message

katierocket Mon 20-Jun-05 10:24:08

oh I see - you're asking what the fees are?
I thought you were saying "have you seen how high the fees are?"

homemama Mon 20-Jun-05 10:25:39

Tinker, they wouldn't discuss fees over the phone. They said fees info would be in the pack!

Tinker Mon 20-Jun-05 10:25:46

Oops. Am typing quickly, scared the baby will wake up. Yes, does anyone know what the fees are? Out of interest.

katierocket Mon 20-Jun-05 10:26:23

HA! that means they must be high!

Tinker Mon 20-Jun-05 10:26:30

Ah! Thanks. Just being nosey really.

Tinker Mon 20-Jun-05 10:26:58

Exactly kr.

homemama Mon 20-Jun-05 10:28:00

I've asked for a pack so I'll post them on here when all has been revealed!

anchovies Tue 21-Jun-05 09:17:53

Well the prices are as expected!

£174.25 for a full time place
£41.00 full day
£23.50 half day

£100 reservation fee

homemama Tue 21-Jun-05 09:54:03

How does this compare? Is this expensive? I ask because I've never done the nursery thing before and I haven't received any other packs yet to compare.
DH and I have made an app. to go see it but no point in paying just cause its the glossiest!

anchovies Tue 21-Jun-05 10:03:56

Its almost double the price of others near us (stockport)! So yes pretty expensive!

Am going to see it anyway though, we only need two half sessions so not bad!

homemama Tue 21-Jun-05 10:21:16

Thanks Anchovies. Maybe I shouldn't go and see it as DH thinks I'm an advertiser's dream! I'm already being swayed by the 'sensory theatre'
It will be difficult to get a proper feel of the staff though, without kids there.
Our appointment is Tue so I'll post back for everyone with details.

mancmum Tue 21-Jun-05 10:23:23

same price as most in manchester or near me anyway!! Which nurseries are £400 a month in Stockport -- useful to know!!
