So all sitting round over dinner something came up about school and grandma said
'oh do you have to stand in the corner if your naughty?
dd2 says, no i'm never naughty, but if you are naughty she stamps on your hands or feet at carpet time.

dd2 is 5 she hadn't realised what she said was shocking she just carried on chatting away.
Later I asked her who she had done it 2 and she named several boys, I asked if it maybe was an accident and she said no she does it all the time

So what do I do? rang a friend who has ds in same class and she is going drop it in conversation with her ds and see if he says the same.

I really don't think dd would make it up but can't be 100 percent sure.

The teacher is known for being shouty.

DS is 5. His teacher takes all the children who have a 'Good Effort' certificate swimming in the magic puddle. It's full of dinosaurs and strawberry cakes.

But come on, children do make things up (disclaimer: I am not a teacher nor have any interest in teachers). They say all sorts of things. DS is 7 and says all sorts about big boys doing this that and the other, the teacher doing this and that (which then turns out to be "well, it wasn't quite like that..."), heavens sake, he once told me that pre-school had been visited by 38 unicorns. I think you should try to find out a bit more before worrying too much.

choccypig has a great point thier it sounds like a more reasonable explanation, on the other hand getting friend to casually drop it in with thier dc is a good idea as im sure all the kids would know about it as the kids must cry if someone hurt them.
although rumours are easily passed around children, yr 5 loads of my peers said mr x was a pervert but i was alone with him on many occasions and he was a lovely bloke and not even remotely perverted.

Classrooms are busy places, with visitors, TAs and other LSAs - highly improbable there is a teacher harming reception pupils' hands by stamping on them! Do you realise how mad that sounds?

yes I really hope it is in her imagination, although she's not usually a tale teller.
Just a really strange thing to come out with, I don't want to question her about it to much as she'll guess somethings up.

Highly improbable. Your DD doesn't have to be making this up though - like others have said it could be that the teacher was in the middle of telling off some children and accidentally stepped on their fingers on the carpet?

My friend's ds told her that his teacher put his name up on the bad wall (apparently it was black). She mentioned it at when she picked him up to be told there was no such thing and that he hadn't been anywhere near naughty anyway.

It is ridiculous! She would be frightened and shocked if it was really happening-it isn't something that she would just drop into conversation! It couldn't happen-the teacher couldn't keep it secret and she would lose her job and not be allowed to teach.
