Does anyone know the proceedure you would need to go through / who you should first contact etc in order to lodge a complaint against a private fee paying school which you think has failed your child?
Has anyone ever done this??

Haven't, but am assuming you have already contacted the Head and the Governors and not been satisfied with the answer you received.
Who regulates the school? Many independent schools are regulated by bodies such as IAPS or the ISC. You would next take up your complaint with them, I would think. Sorry to hear this

It might depend on the nature of the failing, ie. whether it is eduactional or bullying, etc etc

I am watching this thread with great interest. We also looking for the procedure to complain against private school. First, we send to see head of form & head of Junior school. Our question cannot be answer why the school done such 'thing' (don't want to be too specific here). So we email the board of governor and he reply back that he know nothing about this 'problem' and will look into the matter but never got any more reply from them. Then we ask to see the headmaster which we got cold reception, headmaster just said that school act in good faith and there are so many pupils so school cannot look into each individual case so school cannot responsible for this 'thing' which we think is incompetent answer and we do not even got any apology. Now we don't know who we should contact next??
