ks, simply check out the toilets, they say a lot about the state and morale of a school!

I have it on good authority from teachers that this is an excellent test when visiting a school, it's not just a random thought from my warped brain

What are the avarage class sizes?
How many teaching assistants do they have? And how are they used?
What is the schools special needs/ G @ T policy?
What are computer facilities library facilities like?
How much formative assessment do they do?
What is the schools behaviour code/ bullying policy?
How many of the children choose to stay and do sixthform studies?
Tell me why I should entrust my child to you?

I looked at loads of schools when we were thinking of moving dd1 at Y3, and the question that I found elicited the most revealing answers was:

How do you get a balance between ensuring the children achieve the best they can, without putting them under undue pressure?

ks - off topic as I'm not there yet, but could you keep an ear to the ground about your local infant and primaries please? Not to worry if you don't hear anything but if you do I'd appreciate it. You could CAT me if you don't mind.
