Have you looked at Sibelius?

I was thinking of this version, but I'm afraid I don't know a lot about it - the last music co-ordinator at the school I work at was very keen on it & downloaded a free demo, but I'm not sure how much that can do.

There is a boy at the school I work at who is using Sibelius for GCSE music. From what I have seen it looks fairly straight forward to use and is a lot cheaper than Finale.

Sibelius is wonderful and is what a lot of schools use but it is very pricey. Dh has the instrumental teachers version which is a bit cheaper than the full one.

It would be beyond the budget of your average student. Kids going on to study composition at uni may consider it.
