The reason I ask is, our school (nursery age through til 11) has a children's council with elected members from each year group and of course has parent governors but there is no collective of parents at all.
I feel the benefits of such a group would lay in providing support in fund raising, a bank of volunteers for school events and a way of improving liaison between school and parents.
I am aware of considerable levels of disatisfaction within the school regarding inconsistency in school policy on various issues and the Head is considered to be a poor listener. I am hoping perhaps a body of parents could perhaps bridge the gap in communication here.
What do you think? And...how do I do it?!
