Have posted in FE but this board seems to get more traffic so...
My god daughter who I see quite a bit has an interview on feb 20th for this (she was offered one in January but had to re-arrange it because it clashed with an a level exam) and she is so nervous, anyone got any experiance of what she can expect?
She thinks she might be less likely to get a place because she is going to the 3rd (out of 4) round of interviews not the 1st.
She has ABBCC at AS level in Geography, Eng Lit, general studies, Biology and Chemistry in that order and is carrying on with Geog, Eng lit and Bio (and general studies) she has had offers from Liverpool, Glasgow, Sussex and Durham so this is her last one.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Did she have interviews for the others - won't it be similar? Does she have a preference? It's a good dept - but so are the others. If she got an offer from Durham - I would expect UCL to offer too.

No she didn't have interviews for the others, she at durham its something called biological anthropology which she only needs BBC for, I didn't think it was durham durham but it is, i guess it must just not be a very popular course there

I did postgrad in biological anthropology (and my first degree was at UCL as it happens). Durham's is a very good dept but in general biological anthropology is in less demand than anthropology or social anthropology. Biological and social anthropology are very different subjects really though so she should consider carefully which she is more interested in, if she is to make a choice between them.

BBC is not THAT low an offer, especailly for a course whcih is not one of the most over-subsribed (e.g. English).

I am tutoring first years in biological anthropology at the moment.
