Hello we are soon to be moving to the Warwickshire area from Winchester . I Have been researching private schools in the area . I have 3 girls one about to go into year seven and the others in years 2 and 4. All schools on the the who look good. Warwick Prep, The Croft , Stratford Prep and The Kingsley school. Does anyone have any information on these schools?
I have some friends in the area who tell me The Croft seems to be struggling at the moment, with a change of homework policy not really working and also the quality of the music teaching has really been down graded ??
any comments or guidance welcome.

Lots of single sex schools there, so is that important? Are your DC boys or girls? Is DC for year 7 boy or girl? Most of these schools are full for year 7 Are you moving to Warwick area or Stratford area? Would be useful to know which, not a great commute from one to the other.

Depends on What you want from a school....there are some on your list with very different qualities. Whereabouts are you moving to?

We have a connection with Kingsley and it's a lovely school. Swapped there from Bablake in Coventry as it was much of a 'hot house'. Warwick Prep is very similar, if not worse, so we are going with Kingsley for prep then will potentially look at somewhere more academic ( Kings High which is and Indy or Rugby High which is a grammar). Where in Warwickshire will you be moving to?

If you are aiming for Kings High for seniors then definitely try Warwick Prep. The schools are now on the same campus and from my experience, girls coming from other schools find it harder to integrate into Kings if they don’t come from the Warwick system. Now Kings are in the same site as Warwick School there are all the benefits of single sex with the opportunity to mix with boys socially and I believe the 6th form is effectively shared.

I was going to say the same thing. My dd has recently taken the entrance exam and many girls from other junior schools have not been offered a place. Warwick prep really does prep for the school - the scholarships are mostly given to prep girls too.

I do worry about how the boy/girl dynamics will work give the superiority of the boys facilities. They will also likely come across the relationship/sex problems most co-eds have a lot of experience dealing with. It may take a while for the cohesion to take place successfully.

A friend of mine works at Kings High and apparently the staff are all a bit worried about how the Co Ed nature will work now. Kings High girls are meant to be a bit more 'worldly' than the staff were expecting, if you know what I mean Blush

Exactly my worry and observation from the open days. I’m unsure what they have done to identify or mitigate the risks. The boys are well known to be reasonably entitled....A Warwick University situation waiting to happen.

I think the Warwick girls have always been relatively worldly. There certainly always seemed to be plenty of fraternisation between the girls and boys of both schools even when on separate sites.
