DS2s daycare nursery has a uniform from 2 (non compulsory but I like it as it's practical). The nursery attached to DS1s school, however, doesn't have a uniform!

My dd is at the nursery attached to the local primary and they do not wear a uniform.

My ds went to a nursery at 3 which has a uniform. The whole lot, cap, blazer, ect. Didnt have to wear it most of the time though. I was very unsure about it, but in the end it was fine. it made life easy, grey trousers and a while polo shirt or some days it was the tracksuit and a fleece. It saved having to think what to wear, it never bothered him either. It does feel formal to us, but I dont think it does to them. At the end of the day what you wear isnt really the issue its how much you like the feel fo the nursery and if its the best place for you dd.

ds's nursery has a uniform (red tracksuit with the nursery logo on the top, red shorts and sports shirt, also with the logo, for the summer, and an optional red hat). I too thought it a little odd at first, but really like it now. Like others have said, it makes life a little easier as you don't have to choose outfits, the children are easily identifiable as a group and when they are on outings. It also looks lovely when you see them all together! Children get fads from a very early age, especially for expensive marketing-driven things, such as Tweeny socks, or Barbie dresses and so on, so wearing a uniform cuts out a possible source of strife and distress 'But Molly's got one and I want one!'.

Ds1 went to a private nursery for a while and they had to wear uniforms. The nursery ds2 attends has an optonal sweatshirt that can be bought.

my ds went to a pre-school not attached to a school and they had sweatshirts with the preschool logo on, it's quite common in this area TBH

DSs school nursery has a uniform - royal blue joggers and sweatshirt (with school crest) and yellow polo shirt. Reception wears the same and then when they get into Yr 1 they swap to shirt/tie formal uniform and the joggers etc becomes their PE kit. I like uniforms in school I have to say.

DD had uniform at 2.5y she chose the full kit rather than the tracksuit and polo shirt option. She's got no issues with it and i love it. Even the "formal" uniform is non-iron, easy-care stuff; when she's on holiday the ironing pile becomes a mountain!

It would make me sad. I love buying clothes for ds and seeing him in them.

But Aloha, when ds comes home from nursery he changes into 'civvies' - so I do get to dress him nicely every day as well.
