So how much in "extra" money does primary school or PTA usually get from you, each year?

I was trying to add it up and came up with:

Events in School time organised by teachers: play performances, trip to zoo: £15 total, per child.

PTA-run events: Disco, Xmas Fayre, Mufti Days, Sponsored Event, School Fete: Total= £33 per child.

We could have paid out less on PTA events.

Have you paid out more or less?

I'd say all in for fundraising (ie excluding school trips) about £10 for official stuff (mufti days and school disco) and about £20 on buying raffle tickets/school fete stuff

So £30

Ooh, I forgot about school photos! Brings my school total to £23 this year.
I'm interested in all the extra costs, SB, PTA AND school events. Since many parents don't distinguish, anyway.

Agree with 'Eesbehindyou' re school trips. I am not sure how much we have paid this year but on other things:-
£50 sponsorship money
£5 donation for school play to pay for royalties.
£5 spending money at Christmas Fair
£10 spending money at Summer Fair
£20 for tickets to evening fundraiser
£15 to attend Salsa Night
£5 to attend Quiz Night

Probably around £50 in expenses for items I have bought for events (as on PTA) but never claimed for.
All this is per child as I only have the one.

Hmm surely a school trip is for the child? And all ours are subsidised so actually I have got money out of the PTA on those occasions. All our mufti days are for charity (eg red nose, children in need).

So I reckon they have got the following:
Halloween disco - £6 for tickets, £5 for refreshments
Christmas Fair - £4 for Santa tickets, probably about £10 worth of stuff donated (cakes, wine etc), £5 for refreshment, £10 for purchases
Valentines disco - £8 for tickets, £5 for refreshments
Summer fair - £5 for stuff donated, £5 for barbecue, £5 for refreshments, £12 for purchases/face painting

Total =£75. I have on child at school.

I also bought DS's individual photo and class photo but can't remember how much these cost.

DS has had two mufti days which are 50p a go plus I made buns to sell.

He has had 3 or 4 school trips averaging about a fiver each. Quite cheap local ones this year.

Dd is at an independat school so slightly different.

This year I have given her £1 for water aid day and £1 to spend at the May fayre. I didn't give anything for the sponsored skip. I didn't buy the calendar or framed art work and I didn;t buy her anything at the overpriced book fayre. I did buy photos but not sure if anything went to the funds.

The school disco clashed with another activity so she didn;t go. I did buy panto tickets but we would have gone anyway (it was an out of term trip with parents included. She has been on 3 trips but we were not asked for anything extra.

Apart from that I have spent a bit at the uniform swop shop but I class that as bargain hunting.
