I have tried to look at the OFSTED reports but the pages on the internet come up blank. I can phone the school tomorrow if necc but feel I am becoming a bit of a pest at the school and would like to find out today if poss.

Have tried googling without success.

It is Churchmead School in Datchet, if anyone can shed any light. I need this info for a potention new school for her overseas for when we move soon.

Oh thank you Tamdin - I've just tried again but that page is coming up blank for me.

Royal borough etc isn't the exam board, no.

It's odd because I have read the OFSTED reports for the school before but my computer is refusing to open them today.

hi Anorak, can't help you with your query but just wondered how you found Churchmead school? We're quite new to the area and that's one of our options for our daughter.

I've just tried too but it's blank for me as well. Not sure what you mean by exam board though - in which subject? Most subjects at GCSE/A level standard choose which exam board they want to work with by looking at the different specifications each board offers and choosing the one that suits them best. For example my department works with the OCR specifications but not all departments in the school do. It would be easier by far to contact the school and explain exactly what you need to know!

Hi Chikiki. I don't live over there, she is living with her dad at the moment and he selected the school for her.

When I did read the OFSTED report at the time I was not overly impressed, perhaps you will be luckier than me trying to open the web page!

After one year there she is disillusioned, she knows her school here was much better and that she would have had a better education if she had stayed with me and not decided to go and live with her dad.

I'm afraid my personal dealings with the school have not been too favourable either, she had been there for over a term before they responded to any of my letters explaining my wish for involvement so unfortunately I can't say I think much of the school.

Thank you slayerette. It looks as though that is what I will need to do.

Different schools will opt for different boards.

For eample, I teach in a state comp and we used Edexcel for science. The state comp across the road from us uses AQA

Scools will also use different borads for different subjects

Virtually all schools use a variety of exam boards - AQA, OCR, Edexcel being the main ones for GCSE/A Levels.
Perhaps a teacher could tell me though whether they still issue proper certificates? My DS has just realised (2 years into university) that he has only got "provisional certificates" for his GCSEs/AS and A2s!

I mark exam papers for the WJEC and the schools vary from Ireland to London and to Hong Kong as well as schools in Wales (Welsh Joint Education Committee)
so I don't think you can just google to find out. I'd ask the school int he morning- doesn't have to be a big deal- the reception staff will probably know

My DS left school last year & had to send an sae for his certificates - or they could be collected from school. Some schools have a presentation ceremony, others don't. Could you/he have missed a letter asking him to collect them? (The letter would probably be addressed to him if he was over 18 when he left)

Quite possible that DS "lost" them. He managed to lose his A2 notes when a thief on a motor cycle grabbed his bag at a bus stop, so it would just be par for the course!

Contact the school. you can then contact the correct board, and get replacement certificates. I hacd to did this because my mum threw mine out!

They will charge you for this
