dd1 is 15 and for personal reasons i would really like to see the report that the primary school wrote to the secondary school she has been attending for the last 3 years.
Do i have the right to see and may i request that they send me a copy ?
Cheers

I'd have thought under the data protection act you had the right to see this if it is information regarding your daughter. Why do you think they wouldn't show it to you? I'd request it then IF they say no, think about how you'll deal with it.

freedom of information act - just go in and ask for the stuff - if they say no say under the freedom of information act I can request it.

Freedom of Information Act 2000 - make a written request including your name, address and the date. Remind them that they are obliged to provide the information (if it exists) within 20 working days.

yes you have the right.

just ask.

and don't be fobbed off.

be prepared for the fact that they might have 'lost' it though.

Person A wants information from institution B. If the information is about person A (eg a school report) then ask under Data Protection. If the information is about institution B (eg what is their poicy on bullying) then ask under Freedom of Information.

It sounds like there are all sorts of issues between you and the school, fakeblonde. Don't limit yourself by asking for a single piece of info. Go on a fishing trip and ask the school for all info that they hold on your child. You could even go back and ask the Primary school, too.
