La Jolie Ronde, Oui or Non?

I have just had a letter home from school mentioning that they are offering a free taster session in my area. I've been meaning to look into my 2 DDs, 3.5 and almost 5, learning a language for a while now.

Does anyone have any comments/experiences good or bad they can share please?

and can I jump in and ask if anyone works for them, what they think of the company cos I'm thinking of buying into the franchise

Ds did this at nursery last year(paid extra) Haven't continues with the Saturday morning classes though. We have been to France or French speaking countries for the last 4 years and I know that he will speak some French. He comes away with the odd phrase/song at random times even thought it's been almost a year1

Hmm..rather depends on the teacher you get ime. Also, once a week isn't enough which means that you need to practise during the week - if you can be arsed! Method and songs are good.

Ds1 does La Jolie Ronde after school every week (it's at school but obviously we pay for it). He seems to really enjoy it and he is definitely learning.

Ds2 does Spanish at his nursery and I'm going to continue paying for lessons in September when he starts school.

Well worth it imo. I can 'get by' but wish I was more fluent in a language. Didn't start French till I was 12 and I think it's quite late. I was more into sciences by then. The earlier you start the better I think.

DD1 does la jolie ronde at nursery once a week. it is truly amazing. she is only 3 and started after christmas.
she knows her colours, parts of the body, name, age etc. etc.. we found her playing with her "Happyland" house/people saying "mama, papa, ou est le petit bebe?" "ma soeur" etc etc. gobsmacked.

the CD is also good, we listen to it in the car "voici ma tete" "voice mes mains" even DD2 (19m) joins in!

but i think the really big benefit of starting this young is that they aren't embarrassed or shy about speaking it and her accent is really good too.

They both seem very keen, asking me how to say things in French, I am now Maman! I only hope I can keep up, I got a GCSE, but that's about it
