I plan to DIY prepare my DD for Newstead and poss Kent 11+ tests. My DD is year 4 and we've started working with some CGP books on VR, NVR and maths. I believe that GL do the NW test and it's just VR and NVR and that the Kent test is also comprehension, creative writingand maths. I know that there are GL practice papers which I'd imagine you'd do nearer the end but I can't seem to work out which books I should be using specifically to fully prepare her for NW in NVR/VR. I keep seeing Bond described as not challenging enough. If anyone has had success with Newstead and can give me some guidance I would be really grateful. Thank you so much for your help.

We DIYed for NW, Kent & Bexley. DD is currently in Y7 at NW. The Kent GL is very different from NW. As you say, NW only do VR and NVR. We found the Bond ten minute tests the best. However in Y4 I would say just focus on good vocabulary building and reading widely, with good rapid maths skills and start the 11+ materials in Y5. There is so much more on the elevenplusexams website. Good luck.
