What are NVQs equivalent to?

Can I pick your brains? Sorry to be such a dinosaur, but I have no real idea what NVQs are and wondered if they can be compared to GCSE's, A levels (are they still called A levels?!) and degrees?

Cheers

Ummmm NVQ 2 is a few GCSE's, I think. Nvq 3 is comparable to an A level, and Nvq 4 is like a diploma. Nvq 5 may be a degree. I know you can run a residential home with NVQ 4.

They are still called A levels, but at the end of the first year you now sit your AS level (and can stop there if you wish). You can then go on to do A2, which gets you the 'full' A level
