Does anyone have recent or current experience of this school? I don't live too far away but there really doesn't seem to be much information out there about the school. I know its small - but their GCSE results 2015 were really good and I am thinking of applying for DD in Y7.
Thanks.

My experience is just from the recent Open morning.
It came across as a good school, especially if your child needs support.
‘Progress’ score is around 0.5 which is roughly the same as Ripon Grammar (and Ryedale).
The sports field is good, including an astro turf pitch. Some of the buildings are a bit tired though.
The older children have a fairly new classroom block which is good for Y7+.
Very countrified school - they have shooting days, plenty of Range/Land Rovers in the carpark; if you’re a city person you may not fit in.
Seemed good for trips and outdoors stuff. They have good rugby and hockey teams.

I live locally as well and am considering Cundall and Bootham.

Thank you. We missed the open day, but did make it to the Bootham one and really liked it. Advantage of Cundall is it is a) cheaper (bonus!), and b) doesn't involve negotiating York traffic!

You can use child care vouchers at bootham fir the activities, which saves about £200 a term. Also the bootham uniform is peanuts compared to cundall. Depending on where you live the bus from easingwold goes through the villages to york.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about the childcare voucher issues (my employer does them and I have used them before). Doesn't Cundall Manor accept these?

No, don't think so, as their activities are included in the Fees.
