Moving to Hampshire and looking for an independent school for my daughters (all under 6.) I've heard great things about Boundary Oak Prep School in Fareham. Can anyone offer any advice?

Within 20 miles of Portsmouth. Looking for a small school - good pastoral care but academic too.

OK, M27 corridor ... East or West of Pompey? : I'm not being facetious - the road is a nightmare at rush hour

because the Pompey state schools are not great there are plenty of private schools round there
BUT
if you go north towards Petersfield, the state school will meet your needs and save you a packet

or East into Chichester way

small schools are always problem unless they are highly selective by other than wallet - which becomes rarer the further from London you get

AND
schools can change v v fast with a change in head as friends found to their cost

How about Meoncross in stubbington goes from 3-18 now as they have just opened a 6th form. . Rumours among friends are that Wykeham House and Boundary Oak are losing a lot of numbers to Meoncross , West Hill Park and Portsmouth Grammar (is lovely but ££ and depending on where you live will involve a mini bus )

Oh and if you have 3 going by your name , Meoncross the 2nd child is 25% off and 3rd child 50% . Big savings if you have 3 kids
