Buying books.

My dad bought a set novel for her class study for GCSE .Should her academy provide the book,as it is being used for set work?tiadad=dd

Mine had to buy their own, as they annotate them by writing all over them, so they can't then be passed down to other classes.

If the exam is open book they sometimes pass the clean ex-exam copies to the next year group. Obviously that won't work if the texts change. Do they have copies for use in class, either in electronic or hard form?

In our school they can't annotate for GCSE so we supply texts and reissue. However, at A level when they can annotate the students have to buy their texts.
However, with how often the texts lists are changing these days, and potential budget cuts mean that I'm not sure how long we'll maintain this.
