Calculating UCAS points - possibly silly question

What subject is the AS level in? If it's the same as one of the A levels, you don't get to count it.

ABD is 280 points (that's worst case if neither general studies nor your AS count)

AABDE is 420.

But what you'll find is that many unis won't accept general studies and will only count points from 3 A levels - and many top unis ask for grades from specific subjects, not points.

Yes 420 assuming the AS is in a different subject to the A levels, 400 if it's not.

Also if you did any music exams grades 6 - 8 you get UCAS points for each of that too.

I thought some of the very old A levels got no ucas points at all which is very unfair, but I may be wrong.
