Does anyone have children there currently? Am looking for a prep in that area, not keen on a hot house, but somewhere DD can be herself and where children can be children if that makes sense. She's bright and enjoys sport, but don't want her to feel too much pressure while still young

Hi,
Yes, we know of lots of parents with children there. Many of the parents are unhappy with the school, teachers are said to be rude, lack of organisation, incidents of bullying and many other issues, head teacher never sorts anything out etc etc. Best to keep well clear!!!

For what you are looking for I would suggest St Ronan's as they let children be children but without compromising on their academic work. Good reports about this one as they seem to have the balance just right.
I hope this helps.

Have to disagree with Goodparent001. My daughter has been there since reception (she is now in year 3) and loves it. I've only encountered top notch teachers who really go all out for the children. The pastoral care is absolutely amazing (as are the school's results - which are better than St Ronan's and Marlborough House). I think the head is lovely and we have never had a problem. The facilities are the best in the area and the school has a brilliant way of finding and promoting what your child is good at and building confidence. My daughter has blossomed there. The only negative thing I can think of is that is is expensive - but you get what you pay for.
