Sorry, not sure if this is the right place. Dd doing gcse German. Needs help for A level next year. Very rural so no tutors available, trust me, I've tried. We thought maybe get her a language course like rosetta stone, but it's over three hundred quid! I'm happy to do it if it really is the best, but thought I'd check for other recommendations first.
TIA.

Options:

  • Send her to Germany for language course this summer
  • Watch German films
  • Read German books

With languages, immersion is the best thing to do...

Thank you. I shall look into tutoring via skype, I've ordered books. Unfortunately going abroad is not an option, she is disabled and requires a reasonably high level of care.
As for struggling, her idea of struggling is not getting an A star. She's predicted a B, but her teacher says there is a big gap between gcse and A level, so felt it was worth doing stuff over the holidays.
Thanks for the Rosetta Stone advice.

My husband learnt Italian with Michael Thomas I was really amazed at how he was when we stayed in Italy. Your local library might have them thats where he got the Italian ones.
