Bromley schools

We are thinking of moving and are looking at Bromley (orpington/chislehurst side). (Among others...)
Need a good special secondary, good boys secondary, good primary and would like the option of a grammer.

St Olaves is superselective so wondering if there are any other grammers around that he could also have a go at. He is just 5 so don't really know what he's going to be up for but really don't want to move again!

The special school is good so dd would be fine.

My question specifically is how is Darrick Wood school and are there any other grammers ds could apply to (if he is so inclined)??

Langley Park etc seem good but houses seem so much more expensive.

Sorry if I'm rambling on...

Look at how far you are from the bexley ones more generally eg beths chis and sid. I don't know darrick wood but the other two are good. What about the other bromley schools? Many are pretty good not just olave's.

Snap! I just tried to post a thread about Bromley schools but my net connection went down. We're having to move out of East Dulwich (secondary schools not that good, housing stupid expensive) and are thinking about Bromley, too.

Are Langley Park schools good, SweetGrapes? I hear that too, but good how? Ravens Wood and Hayes also seem to turn in good GCSE results, in addition to Darrick Wood. Like you, mine are young and I've no idea if they're grammar material yet!

I'd love some advice, too.

The langley park schools are good and have excellent reputations. Ravens Wood is also good. All get lots of young people into russell group universities.

Hayes also does well - results usually on a par, but reputationally is less good although the young people i meet are charming. i don;t know about its university results. anyway if your children are young, a lot can happen down the track.

DD is in yr7 at Hayes and loving it. I'm incredibly impressed with what I see of the teaching too. We were told top set there is as good as grammar and I can believe it.
